Turning Beloved Moments Into A Record Breaking Retail Collaboration

We brought McDonald’s and BoxLunch together for a celebration of brand love and cherished McDonald’s moments. The first McDonald’s retail collection since the 1980’s included over 20 exclusive apparel and accessories pieces featuring fan-favorite menu items, McDonald's characters and iconography from McDonald’s legacy archives. Products SOLD OUT within the first 48 hours and retail sales topped 7-figures. Marketing support delivered 212+ million impressions. BoxLunch’s chain-wide, omni-channel marketing at all 160 stores included dedicated window takeovers, McDonald’s merchandise displays, and kiosk showcases at top malls. Photos of the collection, shot at McDonald’s “studio restaurant”, were posted and reposted across social channels while partnerships with Gen-Z influencers and PR including a feature in People.com, amplified buzz. The McDonald's x BoxLunch program gave back with over 100k meals donated to Feeding America and proceeds from a limited-edition Ronald x Funko Pop! collectible were donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
